My mom has always said that my sister Vanille would be
the first cat in the family to reach 20.
It was not meant to be...
Although she still hated every animal on the planet with
a passion that forced admiration, at 14, Vanille was
a shadow of her former self...
She, who used to run, jump, and purr on my mom's pillow at night,
had been reduced to sleeping... and not much else.
She was just skin and bone and she could not keep any food.
Was it the right time to say good-bye?
The vet said yes, because she was too sick, but we'll never know for sure...
Bye bye Vanille! I hope we'll see each other again in a long, long time...

Sorry.....
ReplyDeleteShe looked such a beautiful girl. Some cats are old at 14. Some really do go on well before 20. She looks as though she was dearly loved.
She was dearly loved..... or you wouldn't have put her beautiful photo on here. X X X X X X X X X Lots and lots of love x x x x x
I also meant to say that I am sure I see flashes of a black fluffy tail dissapear around in the cottage sometimes. I know it was the right thing to do for my little blogging friend Fluffs. It was the right thing to do for Vanille. Fluffs really did live beyond 20, but, I lost two this year and Hannah was 14. You always miss them, always love them. X X X X X X X
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to say goodbye to our long time friends....but she is now running and playing at the rainbow bridge....I am so sorry for your loss....
ReplyDeleteAh I am so sorry. I am sure you will really miss her. What beautiful eyes Vanille had. Animals especially once senior have a way of still communicating their expressions.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your sweet Vanille. I know she will be very missed in your house.
